Hi,

I'm fairly new to this forum and am thinking of getting a Busse (it will be my first Busse), possibly the SF Natural Outlaw. Sad to say I am not thinking of using it for outdoor but just to slice bbq beef and carve prime rib, please don't get upset with me for thinking of using a Busse this way. Is it better to use a Satin, Double Cut or Black Crinkle. Would it be OK to slice food with the Black Crinkle? or should I use any of the other 2 instead.

Thanks everyone.

If it were me, I'd get either the Satin or the DC for these purposes. They will be slightly easier to clean than the Crinkle Coat.

:D:D

If food prep is your goal and you don't care whether the blade will pull double duty in the field, you should go to the For Sale forum amd see if you can find a NICK, which are satin finished by the way. If the SFNO is your choice I would go Satin or Double cut, I am sure there is nothing wrong with the crinkle and food, but why worry about it if you don't have to.

Why would we get upset with you for wanting to use your knife in this manner? Use is use. Right? :)

Good hunting.

If you want a heavy duty knife for cutting food, you should look at a XXX NICK. It has the classic Japanese chef's knife profile, but it's .25" thick! You could take it outside and chop limbs off of trees with it.

I regularly use my SFNO for food prep. If I didn't use it for this I wouldn't get to use it for weeks at a time. Slice that meat! My knife has the black crinkle finish, and it isn't too difficult to clean.
