Hey everyone, whats a good first time spyderco to start on?
I don't want to break the bank here, around 70$ Canadian is my budget, plus a mini one to hook on to the keychain.
I want to see what the fuss is all about, finally, and I have a feeling I wont be dissapointed;)

I like the look of the jester and the dragonfly, plain edge for me.\

Thanks, guys

The Jester is a better keychain knife. The Dragonfly has better steel and is easier to hold, but it is a tad large for a keyring. I keep a PE Jester on my key ring and a PE Dragonfly in my right front pocket, and I use the D'fly a lot more.

Hmm. I do not think you will get the full spyderco expierience with just a key chain knife, though Jester's are pretty nice. I would go classic and get a Waved Delica 4. It is pretty much the standard and is not overly expensive (US$55ish with Shipping). If you had the bank I would say go with a Caly 3, I believe it will be the new basic high end Delica. Happy buying! You will not be disappointed, Spyderco is an amazing company.

Try a Native with VG-10. $45.00 on eBay. I have seen a couple lockless UK Pen knives around $65.00. S30V and G-10 scales... Hope that helped!

The delia and the natives caught my eye as well.
Looks like I may be getting a few of them. :)

How do the ladybug and the byrd starling perform for the small ones?

The Delica 4 is a great little knife. The Natives are both very impressive, though lately my preference has been slightly to the Native III for that great clip. If you'd like something beefier, the D`allara drop point is amazing.

For Spyderco's small knives, I like the cricket, but that's something like 40 US....a little pricy for a combined knife budget.

I find that I prefer the hump on the back of the blade of the Delica over the straighter back of the Native. I think it helps my thumb get to the hole faster.

Also something that I havn't seen brought up yet. I would do some serious research into your local knife laws before getting a waved delica. Don't get me wrong, I love my waved Endura. My local court however is one step from calling standard Spyderco's "switchblades" if they are having a bad day....I think the wave would get one in trouble carrying it in public here. Just my 2 cents worth.
