When I first got into quality knives Swamprat knives were the ones I used to drool over the most. At the time they still had the rubber handles and the Howling Rat was the epitome of a survival knife for me, for whatever reason I never did get a Howler but I have owned some other Rats and still believe they are right up there with the toughest knives on the planet.

Anyway enough of the past, I've just become the proud owner of another cheese munching beast and I took it out for it's first trip today !

I never thought the rain would stop but stop it did and the sun even made a brief appearance...

The water was flowing at quite a rate due to all the rain...

Here is the sheath set up, there is room in the front pocket for my Victorinox Soldier and my firesteel. I might find a tin that fits and make it a small PSK.

Nice pics, Pitdog. I really like the looks of your new knife.
Everything is so GREEN lol lol. I miss that. But spring is just around the next 10 corners lol.

Nice blade, looks like it could pry apart a piece of fatwood or two

A Swamprat Ratmandu that got me hooked on 52100. However I've never warmed up to the choil.

I Had a 10" chopper forged for me by Tad Lynch of 52100 with a dropped edge, and now I have Mark making me a 5"er to go with it.

On the M6 the choil may make sense. But on a 5" blade like the RMD it just gets in the way. At least for me.

I bought one of those a while back too. It was my first Swamper. You know when you get a new knife and it just feels really good in your hand? Well that was the feeling on this one. My next door neighbor (good dude) has it now. They are very well built and tough knives. You will enjoy it for a long time.

Good pics, Pit. Always fun playing with a new blade.

I could not agree more Pit. Swamp rat is the king of production knives. IMO:thumbup:
