My brother bought me plans for the NWG a while back. I have two bench grinders in my shop and I use them all the time. The NWG looked like a great project and a useful tool, so I built it.
It's hard to research ideas for a grinder like that without being introduced to knife makers in the process. There are some very talented people here and you make some amazing knives. I am also impressed by the generosity of so many of you, sharing your experiences and expertise.
Anyway, I got the bug and thought I would give it a try. I decided to start by copying a few skeleton blades for practice and see if I could have any success there before moving on. I copied a Spyderco Mule and borrowed quite a bit from a TOPS Baghdad Box Cutter (I named my version of the box cutter "the Pig")
Hats of to those of you who grind the blade so well - that is not easy.
Here are the pictures, feel free to tell me what I am doing wrong. I'm waiting for some scotchbrite belts to try for a satin finish before sending them out for HT.
PS - for 440C, what belts do you use to grind the blade?
Erik
