I decided to start a new thread since I'm sure this one will get a lot of interest in the next seven days. :D It will be interesting to see what the reserve is and what the winning bid is and who gets it.

We could play a little over/under...I'm going to say over...by $125 :foot: just going by what some of those POS have gone for...but we are talking big bucks here:eek:   . Preston

Mike, how will we know what the reserve is...just when someone bids over it?
Twelve bids now, but no Michael, just waiting in the wings to see where this will go???

I'm thinking that the really serious folks ARE waiting and we won't see action until just hours before.

Blade's Guide states "Etching was briefly used in place of stamping, and vintage 110s so etched are very hard to find today." Mike, that's like your inverted stamp 110...you need this etched one... think of it as price averaging:D :D :D :D.

Whoever gets it will have a wonderful piece. Preston

Preston,
When someone bids higher than the reserve, their bid will actually be set at the reserve amount.
I have come to the conclusion that incremental bidding is like boiling a frog. You really don't know how hot it is (how high the bid is) until the water is boiling and its too late (the bidding has gone higher than the knife is worth) So, if I'm going to bid on anything I'm leaning towards waiting to the end before I make a decision.

You've boiled frogs:barf: :barf: :barf: well you didn't say that you ate them.:D. DO YOU:confused:.

I do understand your explanation, however colorful.

Can't be that many, in this condition, out there. There sure seems to be an increased interest in Bucks and old Bucks in particular. This will be fun to watch...I hadn't noticed the ending time, hope it's not past my beddie-bye time.

Thanks, Preston.

I wonder if this is because people have heard about the El Cajon plant closing...maybe they think that Buck has gone out of business...

Trax, I just don't know...if you visit the Schrade forum you'll see that they talk about the same things there...but Schrade did go out of business...the USA Schrade, they made over there now.

Think that Schrade going OOB had something to do with the increased interest in Bucks?

DarrylS...that's amazing:eek:.

Not only the sale of this first verision, but we're seeing some real special pieces from Buck come up on the bay...a few days ago I saw a hugh list of one-of a-kind Buck Customs up. I havn't followed them but will go back and look. Preston

Mike kind of alluded to who this particular person is [the auction says the item is located in Post Falls, Idaho]...

But why sell it???

$500 reserve. I asked him on E-Bay. He said the last one he sold like that went for twice that, BUT, it had the paper work with it.

George.
If that's the case, I imagine it won't sell (too rich for my blood). Then again, what do I know? Right now the price is $260.00
