I've been carrying an old Shrade tough tool, which is gigantic. Time to downsize, I figured... so I picked up a Victorinox Recruit. For $17, I don't know why I didn't try one earlier.
Anyways, I was wondering; what was your first SAK, and do you still have it?

I never had a Vic until just recently (to be honest i just assumed they were cheap junk) but i recently acquired a Vic Farmer and its the best alternate to my leatherman when carrying the LM isnt an option. I plan on getting a few more sometime but the farmer is doing its job well for now

single blade(i think) red alox in about 1978.
we all had one at school .

My first was thirty-some years ago. It was a red 108mm Safari, and it came from an Early Winters catalog. I lost it a few years later. I found a different one exactly like it along a river bank a year or so after that. I eventually sold it when the 111mm knives were introduced. Three or four years ago, I bought two NEW red Safaris on ebay for about $12 each. One is safe. The other gets used.

My first was a Camper model. I replaced it soon after purchase due to the p[lastic scales falling off in the pocket.

I replaced it with a Farmer model and haven't looked back since.

I now carry a Pioneer Harvester it is the replacement for the Farmer which was eventually stolen.

mine are standard (spartan without keyring, toothpick and tweezers) and lumberjack... still own them... no longer look pretty but function perfectly... that says alot for victorinox superb quality...

Mine was an old Spartan (without the tweezers and toothpick but with the keyring), it was the first knife I bought when I was 12 or 13.
And yes, I still have it.

Mine is the same as quattromori, a Standard model but its an older Victoria stamped with a bail and clip pointed small blade.
