Well, I got looking around and decided I needed a watch. Pulling the cel phone out of the pocket just wasn't cutting it. I looked around and this just struck me. I like the fact that it isn't available in the US, so it'll be pretty rare, and I just like the aesthetics. It fits my small-medium diameter wrists perfectly and I'm really happy with it so far.

Just in case you're wondering, I got it from Chronograph.com...great service, took 11 days to get to California from Singapore, free shipping.

i have an older (about '90) seiko chronograph, gold colored, which is prob the grandpa of that watch, looks similar.

nice watch by the way, my wife says mine is "busy"(w/all the hands) lol.

yeah, it does look kind of busy. Its nice though, being somewhat cryptic.

I think its running slow though. I reset it this morning, and it looks to be about 30 seconds slow. Any suggestions?

Good Morning All-

Neetones, nice watch...congratulations. As PWork mentioned, it is hard to go wrong with a Seiko automatic. They provide a true "workhorse" movement that will take a beating and continue to provide accurate, reliable service. It is also an excellent watch from which to do customization work, such as with Bill Yao at www.mkiiwatches.com.

In terms of accuracy, a new mechanical watch needs "run-in" time for the mainspring, gears, escapement, lubricants, etc. to settle. Let the watch do its thing for about a month. If it continues to run a little on the slow side, take it to an authorized Seiko shop for a slight adjustment. I'm willing to bet that this little problem will cure itself with a little bit of time.

Again, congratulations. It's a sweet watch...enjoy it in good health.

Thanks Jays, that helps.

The watch actually is battery operated, not an automatic.

I have a watch that also resembles yours...and like Greg (SIFU1A) said, it might be a "grandpa" to yours.

To be honest, I like yours a lot better... :)

yeah, you guys are definitely right, the problem was that my computer's clock was losing time.

now I'm looking into straps. How's a rhino for thin wrists?

Nitin

I wear a Rhino on my thin wrist. It took a couple days to get used to, but I've grown to like it very much. Keep in mind that it is not a subtle band. It's as big a statement as the Seiko diver it's now strapped to. My watch now looks bigger than my head.

well, I have a one-piece 2-ring black hardware Rhino on the way. I'll try to post pics once it gets here.

Damn it, the last thing I need is another money-draining hobby.
