So I was sitting there with my girlfriend last night while she watched Project Runway. Unfortunately the volume of the TV caused me to hear some of the drama. So in between shots of bourbon to try and purge the memory and rounds of Russian Roulette because the bourbon wasn't working, I had an idea.
An idea for a reality show competition. We need a group of people far less likely to act like dramatic prima donnas. We need knifemakers.
A group of promising young knifemakers are brought together and given new challenges each week. The results are judged by a group of ABS master bladesmiths.
Who else thinks this idea has potential?

With all the spin offs from Deadliest Catch, Discovery would probably spring for a pilot season.
Cpl, thanks I'll be laughing at your comment all week.

My knife making skills became obsolete as soon as folks switched over to that newfangled
stuff called bronze

Not during week 6, that challenge is making sheaths.

It'll be a feature length episode-they'll do a rerun the week before so that they can run ads for the one episode two weeks straight... then of course all rights to the maker's marks, their products, forges and souls will have to be signed over to Discovery Channel, and their knives will cost 499.98 apiece...

I thought about The Cutting Edge, but that's also a movie about ice skaters. That makes the movie lose some appeal.
