After my first week here I have found this to be an excellant forum. The members are well informed, serious, with the right touch of humor, and all very well informed. This is one of the very best sights I have found on the subject, with tons of helpful information, it will take ages to wade through it all.

Thank you all for making this person welcome and feel at home, as well as for sharing your experience. I hope in some small part I make make a contribution.

I do have one question, where do I find these HI Kukris? Having been and used traditional blades for so long I have never really checked into kukris seriously, I think from what I have heard it is time to check them out.

Thank you again.

Lee, HI maintains a forum here on BladeForums in the Makers/Manufacturers section. You may also want to take a look at Himalayan Imports Website & Howard Wallace's Khukuri FAQ . Just a word of caution -- they can be addictive.

I may be goin' to hell in a bucket, Babe, but at least I'm enjoyin' the ride.

This forum has exceeded my wildest dreams -- thanks for the kind words!

I have to say that having Greg and Ron here has been amazing -- where else can you get this kind of direct interaction, in one place, with two of the very best survival experts in the world?

It was my goal in getting this going that it would be the very best, most interactive, most informative, and busiest wilderness forum anywhere on the internet -- and I think we're succeeding at that goal in just over a week in operation. How about you?

We're at over 1200 posts in only about a week -- man, my head is spinning here, but I have an ear-to-ear grin all the way!

Why are we so successful? It's simple:

The members on this forum are the reason.

All of you have been incredible, and just all-around great people -- so much great information being shared by everyone here. Thanks to all of you for dedicating so much time here -- you all make this forum the fast success that it is, and I am proud and honored to have each and every one of you aboard...

In gratitude,

Brian.

I want to add my thanks to the members of the forum. Most everyone seems ready to share good information as well as tips and techniques in their own experiences. Great Job!

Often I see a topic I want to add something to but if I leave it alone for a few moments.... Bingo! Someone else posts the answer for me. Sure saves time!

With two forums to work as well as over 60 emails a day, not to mention the articles I'm finishing off and the videos we constantly have in production. It is nice to be able to read and watch the forum grow.

I can rest assured that when Karen and I take off to video tape the survival skills of my Montegnard friends in Vietnam, the tribal work of an anthropologist buddy in New Guinea and ... The forum will continue to flourish.

Thanks Greg and Brian and all the members!

Great place!

Ron

Hi everyone. What a wonderful group. This forum has taken off like a rocket...and I'm sure will soar to unbelieved heights. There seems to be so much knowledge with the members...don't really need a moderator...

Keep up the good work...

This indeed is a terrific forum. let us keep working together to make this the best site possible.

Greg , may you have a speedy and complete recovery.

Greg,

My wishes for a speedy recovery, and YES!!! Please keep up your questions. They are thought provoking and almost like a mid-term exam for survival where we can not only post what our experiences have gained us, but also to learn from the experiences of others.

Thanks to Brian, Greg and Ron for all the great work and input!

I've gained more from this forum in a few days than any other source in such a short time.

Keep up the thought provoking questions, Greg! Making the brain work is how it gets its excercise. Without the brain working in top notch condition, survival gets questionable. Also, being a teacher, thinking and getting people to think is Job 1!
