First XM-18, quick question

The jimpin on both on the flipper and back of the blade appears to be a brownish/ bronze color. Is this anodized? If not any idea what may have caused the coloring?

I think it's just a discoloration from the machining process, as those portions are not finished (stonewashed/bead blasted etc). I've seen it on a few hinderers, striders, etc; as long as it isn't rust it's nothing to worry about.
