I just bought my first real knife last month, a Delica FFG. I was pretty amazed at the craftsmanship of it. Well I'd say I got pretty addicted to knives because this week I decided to get a 0550 Gen 2 blem from Kershaw Guy, just last month I thought $60 was too much to spend on a blade now I was dropping $130 on a knife lol. It just came in the mail and when I opened it all I could say was holy crap. This thing is an absolute tank and the titanium and G10 just feel so amazing in the hand. The smoothness is unreal and the lock up is perfection. After using the Delica I had no idea what such a massive folder felt like. I'd say I'm hooked, now $130 doesn't seem like too much to spend on a knife lol. Hopefully this doesn't make me buy a real Hinderer.

Here are some pictures, I can't find the blem (Are the marks on the back of the thumb stud/blade stop and the back of the blade normal? I'm assuming its just from hitting against the handle, and from the frame lock engaging on the back of the blade.)

I am a spyderco guy and just picked up my first ZT as well--- gen 2 zt550. I agree that the knife is amazing!

Enjoy the knife! I love my 0550. I've been carrying my 0561, but I think this post has made me want to carry my 0550 gen2 today instead!

The 0550 is ZT's best EDC type knife in my opinion, but I much prefer the generation 1 because I like the pocket clip better. Enjoy my friend!

Nice piece, the 0550 is my favorite ZT so far as well. Yes, those marks are normal. The thumb studs (blade stops) smooth out from hitting the handle, and the tang there will show marks and wear from the lock bar. It's fine.

I just got my first ZT 0550 today from kershawguy too. Same experience as you. First ZT, for me too, this thing is a tank! I think I'll carry it exclusively for week or so to form a more detailed opinion, but my first thought are this knife represents money well spent!

I agree, I bought a 550 blem about two weeks ago and love it. Detent was really stiff at first as was the lock but after two weeks of concentrated exercise its smooth as silk.
Great knife.

Thanks guys, good to know about the detent. Mines a little strong but hopefully it smoothes out after some use. I'll definitely have to get some scales from kryptoglow/rival made. Thinking orange G10 or LSCF, that will make this knife look even more amazing. I have a feeling I will be buying a ZT flipper soon, maybe an 0200.

I just got a 0550 gen 2 blem for Dave recently too. Much smoother than the 0551 I had and traded for a 0301 like an idiot.

I like the 0550 so well I just made a trade for another 0550.

Of the 550 / 560 choice, I prefer the 550. After seeing my Gen 1 550, my neighbor bought a Gen 2. Then he saw my 0560, and one thing led to another...I now have a fresh Gen 2 550 and 2 30rd mags for my ARs. Both of us are happy.

It has become my favorite ZT and when they first came out, I was not in love with them. The first time I saw the 2nd gen. with the black blade I was hooked, I have one on my desk and I pick it up several times a day while I am working and admire everything about it.

The 0550 is one of the best. The BEST I tell ya !!!

I think the lock cutout on the gen 2 makes it look a thousand times better. The whole knife looks and feels better then I expected in person. Oh and that sound it makes when you gently flick it open  It's satisfying to know I won't need a knife for a while. With the Delica I felt there were a million knives better then it and all I wanted to do while I had it was get a bigger and better build knife. I'd say I'll be happy with this for a while :) Thanks again Kershaw Guy, you easily made my week
