I have recently handled a couple of FirstEdge folders (assisted and automatic). I liked what I saw. The auto deployment design and track-lock mechanism were pretty cool.

Do any of you guys have experience with these knives? I'm curious about their quality, durability, and warranty/customer service.
Thank you.

I've handled one before it's a very large handle for a too small blade

I know what you mean, but that bade/handle ratio works for me. I'll bet this knife is a huge turn off to a lot of people because of the looks, the lock, and the firing button. All of those are winners to me.
But before I put out that kind of money, I'd like to hear anyone's opinion on it's performance.

I had never heard of them before. Looks pretty nice. There a couple of reviews on YouTube that are positive.

Never heard of them. With automatics, I would wanna stick to more well known brands, especially when it comes to customer service. I don't do assisted knives.

In looking at their website, they are a bit too "tacticool" for me. I feel for a new knife company, their products really don't bring anything new to the table.

To each their own though. Just my $.02

Thank you for the input. I think I'll try out their manual version and try to do a review.

Well everyone has different tastes, that's why they have cherry as well as vomit flavored jelly beans. At least it has good steel...

Also I sort of like the popcorn flavored ones. Depends on the day

I have a manual one, and while it's a clunky design, and not pretty, it's a good knife. Elmax steel, appears to be decently treated, and pretty smooth action with a cool lock. It is ground thick, the pocket clip is gigantic, and it is a nightmare to disassemble, however, so it isn't perfect.

Thank you. Your first hand experience is what I was looking for. Most of the Youtube "reviews" sounded more like advertisements, or that one kid that used the 1/8" thick blade as a pry bar and was mad that the tip broke.
I just ordered the manual version a little while ago.

How does the lock work? I didn't see any explanation on the site...

There's a slide switch on the side of the handle. I have seen the manual blades drop shut, like a Benchmade Axis lock. But with the assisted and auto versions, when you slide the switch back, it moves the blade 20-30 degrees towards being closed. That makes it easier to close one handed.

I edc a drop point some of the time and love it. Smooth opening, razor sharp and it fits my big ass hands great. Super strong lock to boot. keepem sharp
