I'm looking for a gift for my daughter in law, who would like a fish boning knife. What are the top rated knives in that category?

If you're looking for a fillet knife, try a search of this current forum for "fillet" in the title.

As you would expect, there are a lot of opinions. I'm not a fisherman, so I can't comment.

Hi Beaver, do you have a budget in mind?

I recently picked up a Bark River Kalahari Sportsman in CPM154 and it's awesome. There is also a mini version available, they range from 200-280$.

You can get a Shun japanese style one for about 80-130$. Shun uses VGMAX AKA VG10 which tends to be a little chippy if you're not careful and hit bones all the time, bit they're otherwise very beautiful and gift-worthy. I actually just picked the one below up for a gift:

Good luck!
