Finally received the Fish Knife by Rajkumar a few days ago. All I can say about this one is that it's a beast!
42oz compared to the 32oz 18" M43, this thing feels like wielding a giant crowbar. I can't honestly describe it as lively, it's an axe, not a sword. It's likely my limit(weight wise), although it feels very forward balanced and choptastic.
The handle is long enough to get two hands on, and very comfortable. It's also the only Khuk besides the M43 that's nearly perfectly balanced. Where as the M43 will literally balance on one finger and stand straight up, the Fish Knife has a slight push to the left side, it slowly leans over and will perch on the edge bevel. All of my others will flop down left or right quickly.
The engraving is excellent, although there are some inconsistencies with the inlay. The HI and maker's marks look like they were chiseled in as an afterthought though, compared to the deep work on the main design. The guard is a very nice feature also.
Definitely an awesome piece, I really want to chop something with it, but I'm considering leaving it pristine, since I don't see it as a very practical user for someone my size. If my arms get stronger after a while, I may re-evaluate, but I can't see carrying something this heavy around.
Here's some pics, along with my 2 other big HI's, the recently acquired Kumar Garud, and my faithful Santosh M43 user.
