Did Schrade make any models of the Fish Knife (Texas toothpick with scaler/bottle opener) other than the Imperial? I would love to locate one. Ideally, did they make one in the similar style to the 206 Grand dad barlow? I love the look of that barlow.

Phil.......Phil??

This one is calling your name (textoothpk, of course....)

Sit chilly Bauer, you have chosen good bait, as it were.

:D :D

Good one Glenn. You just posted that and I'd already forgotten it....Doh!! :o

This is sort of like chumming for "Mack the Knife." (LOOSE fish knife, previous nautical thread, and forum content).

In a word yes. here are a few I grabbed quickly out of one display. Schrade, Ulster, wards, John Primble ( with fishing etch out of RD never sold commercially). Craftsman, ect all off the same machines same factory same place. The big barlows with the scalers are Schrade cuts called the fishermans pride one with liner lock one with out. There was also a trapper version under Schrade Walden which I continually seem to not be able to land ( so to speak ). LT Reference RD ( research and development ie prototype )

You called?
Here's a few past threads, most of them probably me asking the questions and LT giving the answers. Hey, isn't the topic of fish knives and texas toothpicks made by Schrade what brought me here in the first place?

I don't think Schrade ever had a fishing knife that resembled the 206 Barlow, and that's too bad. I like the delrin handles on that knife and the fancy bolsters.

Thanks for dropping in, Bauer

We posted answers at the same time, LT. Glad you reposted those excellent pics, they were missing from one of the older threads I linked to. Great story about Ted Williams there.

It is a fishing knife bladed- trapper pattern you are seeking, LT? The SS292? I passed one by once, years ago, didn't realize what a find it was.

Those were new pics I ran them out just now that is why the they are so great ( sarcasm). Oh well at least you can see the grandad versions and the 3 spring with the opener. that the inquiry was about. I do not believe they made the smalller barlow version either. Yes for some reason that Schrade Walden trapper and I keep missing each other. I have had half a dozen chances no big deal like I always say it is only a knife. LT

I appreciate your help fellas. Now I know what to search for. I am interested in one for the collection but also interested in one to take care of some big ol' Bass. I saw one from Queen Cutlery with the winterbottom delrin that looked nice. Thought I try my old standby Schrade first.
Thanks again.

Here's a couple I just found in my collection....

The Stainless Steel model I'm not to familiar with. It's marked Stainless Geo. Schrade Knife Co. Inc. B'P'T. Conn. If anyone has an idea to the date I'd appreciate it. I'm not thinking its very old to the the mint condition of the knife, maybe a repro?

Wallkill,
Oh no, the beautiful Hunting and fishing knife you show is orginal and at least as old as the late fifties. There have been other issues of this knife that came later; When George Schrade sold out to Boker (1956), they made the knife with their own tang stamp on them. I've also found them made in Japan, 'Scotchline' brand. We've got an old thread on these that I will look for.
