I've had several of these over the years.
But, the one thing that makes them great, also makes them bad.
Since they're so small, I lose them all the time.
I'm now "bulletless"
But I'll fix that soon.
I was wondering, besides the regular chrome finish, which finishes
hold up the best?
Ti, lacquered chrome, brushed chrome?
Thanks,
Lenny

My matte black ones have held up just fine after several years.

Carry one in my Mission wallet, one in my PDA case (stylus tipped), one in a small notebook, and the wife has (a red) one in a Fisher credit card/pen holder.

wrap a rubber band around it and it will never slide out of your pocket (how i lost my first one)

one of the best pens money can buy, its just a pity i keep losing them, damm that sleek sexy bullet shape!

or carry your pen in one of these from fisher ...

I have a black matte bullet pen and after carrying it and letting it bounce around with other things like keys, some of the black has worn off to reveal a brass looking base underneath. Personally I don't mind as it adds character to the pen, but others might mind the finish coming off. I've also carried a chrome finish (standard not lacq) and it was never marred in anyway though it did show smudging and fingerprints. Again I don't mind that largely because I am more concerned how the pen writes than looks.

I did not like how the chrome finish wore on my first bullet pen, but the black finish seems to be holding up much better. Mine rides in my wallet and that works well, not a name brand Fisher just a leather bilfold.

Great pens if you have a good cartridge.

I carry my Telescoping Bullet on a daily basis on the inside of my wallet via pocket clip taken from another Bullet model. For gear bag or shirt/ vest pocket I have been using the black Cap-O- Matic (I believe its called) that came with this package:

It is the $12 introductory sample at the lower right. Good deal!

I have a piece of shrink tubing on the cap of my chrome bullet pen. The rubbery texture stops it from sliding out of my pocket, at least so far.

I also favor the small leather holster from Fisher. Cost about $3 IIRC.
Been in the pocket for about two years and still looks good.

Sewing up something like this would work too I guess.

Where's a good place to get this sort of elastic by the way? I could make some sweet Belt condoms with that for my toys on my belt.

I would think that you would have a few elastics to choose from at a fabrics store or upholstery shop.

Another Fisher refill question... they make refills for various other pens, but does anyone else make a refill that will fit the Fisher? I am looking for a rollerball. I like the bullet's shape, but would like it more in a rollerball since I don't need to write in -50c or upsidedown underwater.:D

I gave up carrying these after losing 2 of them. A mini Sharpie on my keychain does the trick.

Can' t find my Parker Jotter right now. But the Fisher Bullet refill will fit into the Parker Jotter models with the supplied small plastic extender. Then the Jotters reill must also fit the Bullet models. And Parker does make a GEL rollerball refill for the Jotter. So there it is. :)

Ryan,
Writers Edge, previously linked in your post #6, has them for $3 (no pen of course). Look under "Accessories" on the L/H menu of the home page.
On my last order from them I got a few clips, and two of the suede leather "holsters" to enable different EDC methods, but settled on the pocket carry in the holster. No problem with the Bullet falling out of the pocket using this.

Hmmm... so to use the Fisher refill in a Parker you need an extender. So on the flip side to use a Parker in a Fisher I would think that I would need to cut off the molded on extender.

Here's a picture of the Fisher refill with Parker adapter (top) and an Inoxcrom (from Spain) Parker type refill, I don't think that the Parker will fit the Fisher even if cut off, it is too wide.

Edited:

I just tried to put a Parker type refill in my inexpensive push button Fisher and it didn't fit because of the width, I don't know about all Fisher models but my guess is that it will not fit.

Edited again for a couple more comments:

I used to have a Fisher bullet pen, when I lost it I could not find another one in Mexico, but I did find some clones/knockoffs that take Parker type refills and one that takes a Parker type cut short, they look just like the original but the ones that take the straight Parker refill are a bit longer.

The Inoxcrom refill in the picture is gel and I really like it, in Mexico it costs about $6 US for a pack of five, it's not common, I just know of one shop that carries them, I don't know about availability in the USA or on the Internet.
