I like my fisher pen, but it seems you really have to bear down to write with it. Does anyone else have that problem? Possibly a bad refill?

I was almost ready to give up on the Fisher cartridges in my Sensa pen for the same reason. Then somebody posted here that the fine point refills work much better. I bought a couple at Penwa and that seems to have cured the problem.

I'm not 100% sure that it was the refills though. I have a Fisher Bullet and a Telescoping pen that I've never had a problem with . The Sensa seems to be very sensitive.

I' ve had good experiences with all my Fisher models. On occassions though, you may find one out of a bunch of the refills where they just seem to be short of their normal smooth writing capabilities. I returned one to a local Staples where I got it. And strongly requested for an exchange. Fisher says to send it back to them. But for a few dollars worth and shipping and packing costs, it wasn' t worth my time. The Telescoping model is my favorite.

I have had numerous Fisher refills, and too many have stunk. It is a sore point for me. If they work correctly they are great. I've had 3 or 4 that leaked globs of that thick ink onto the tip if you didn't use it constantly. I would go to write a check and have to look for something to wipe that ink onto. I've had a few others that wrote horribly from the get go.

I actually have one cartridge from 1987 that still works great though. I like the pens, but would like to see better quality control. On my most recent bullet pen I have to put a layer of tape around the ink cartridge or it rattles while I write with it.

I purchased 5 Fisher bullets and returned all 5 for having defective cartridges. They were repaired/replaced by Fisher and returned to me without the ink leaking around the seal (butt-end of the refill). However, now all of them have again begun to leak around the seal, resulting in little pressure at the tip so it does not write very well.

I dunno...0 out of 10 doesn't seem like very good odds for me. I could send them back again, and perhaps have them repaired/replaced again...but now that I'm in Taiwan, that would not be very convenient.

LOve the shape and packaging but the cartridge sucks. I tried heavy use with a fisher, rounding on 15+ patients writing notes and orders and the ink is potty at best. I had a cartridge replaced, helped a little . It a good occaisional use, in extreme conditions but as a daily writer..no way.

I wish someone made a gel cartridge to refill the bullet. Or some other good flow ink. I like the shape of the bullet still but I hoping they do something to improve the ink delivery.

I've used Fisher pens for about a decade and have had perhaps 2 or 3 that had issues with the refills right out of the package, but for the most part I've never had a problem with them. In fact, they are the only pens I carry and use on a daily basis. I carry a matte black bullet pen on my flight jacket, a chrome one in my shirt pocket and a matte black Cap-O-Matic military pen in my gear bag just in case I need it. For the price, Fisher pens can't be beat and if you do have issues with a bad refill or the pen itself, they have an unconditional lifetime warranty. Here's a link to the Fisher site.

Give up on the Fishers and get a Waterman ;) They look way cooler anyway, and I've never encoutered a Fisher refill I could stand, Watermans are smooth as silk. For less money the Sheaffer Award and Lamy Safari are also GREAT. It's also hard to beat good ole' Dr. Grip. ;)
