FINALLY got one for myself. Found em in Staples for 30cad. Medium blue or black.

It's not gel like I've been using for the last 3-4yrs, but it's still nice and smooth.

How long does a cartridge last in the bullet usually? Staples doesn't carry the refills here yet, so I'll end up ordering them online. May as well have an idea on how long till I'll need to order another cartridge or 2.

I forget how many miles they do. Seems like they were getting into the low teens in terms of hours of constant usage at the SHOT SHOW.

Mine last over a year if I use it mostly for bills and such and about 6-9 months if I use it at work.

I also use the jumbo point which i'm sure goes through ink much quicker.

I have been using Pilot G2's since early 99. I've been through 5 pens, and easily 45-50 refills in that time. Figured I may as well get a good pen since I've been dumping $7-8 on the pen and $3/refill.

Use pens for 6 lines of writing every shift at work, and MAYBE a full page of writing at home over a week.

Going off to school in the fall, and even that will be just short notes and typing.

I order my refills from penwa.com since my local stationary store just closed up after 75 years. They ship lightning fast and sell the refills for about $3 and they even have uv ink refills if you're feeling all stealthy.

You should give one of the jumbo ones a shot though, since they wrtie even smoother than the mediums.

I keep losing the pens long before the refills run out.

V-wolf, I see you are in Canada - Mountain Equipment Co-op is now carrying Fisher Bullets, for $24.95, IIRC. Don't recall if they have the refills yet. Lee Valley Tools carys the refills for sure, about $6.

FYI, I just got a bunch of fine tip refills. I bet they will last alot longer than the mediums, as they don't put out nearly as much ink. They also don't have that little blob that the mediums always leave when you first start to write with them, or have little thicker sections in places where the ink isn't flowing consistently or whatever. It's not as bold as the writing with the medium, but the fine seems smoother, and to take less pressure to write with, too.
These are not as big differences as they might sound, but they add up, and I like these fines much better.

Space pens are awesome.

Though I wonder about this one Is it really worth all that extra money? Anyone else bought one?
It's making a pretty strong claim that it can write for 50 years!

I wonder how much the "average" person uses a pen? Probably won't last most people 50 years as I'm sure most will end up losing it. Seems that the $20 bullet pen is the better deal if you think like me?

I have found them available in black only. I'll have to check our local Staples for the blue.

I've got one of the standard bullet pens with the PDA stylus on it, and love the thing. It's always in my pocket right next to my AFCK. :)
