Fisher Space Pen question?

There is no where in my area to buy Fishers other than the Chrome Bullet, which I have and while I REALLY like Fisher refills I cannot stand the knurling or whatever you call it on the end of the pen, I also wish it was a bit bigger in diameter. I actually DO like the pen but I cannot write with it for long periods due to the knurling being uncomfortable on my fingers. I've been looking at the Fisher Police Pro, Military Cap-O-Matic, Shuttle Pen (the retractable one) and the Fisher Wedge on-line. I was just wondering if any of these pens are particularly comfortable to write with for long durations? I'm not interested with any with any kind of knurling at the end.

Roughly how big in diameter are the above mentioned pens? Also pen weight is of no concern because I usually like fairly heavy pens, my favorite is the Waterman Expert, I also like the Cross Century II and the Parker Sonnet if that helps with the sizing. The wedge looks like a big pen on-line in some pics and small in others. I was especially curious to know the approximate size of the Shuttle and the Wedge in comparison to the other brands I mentioned I am familiar with. Sorry about the length of this post but I'm trying to not have to order one of each kind and then have to send some back. Thanks.

I'm a big fan of the space pens and have a few models ... right here in fact, with my handy caliper alongside :)

The Police Pro is probably the most comfortable. I have the Zero Gravity, same thing with a different logo, that's all. The barrel has a rubbery grip layer to it, very durable, though. the tip is tapered in a slightly triangular grip that keeps it from rolling in your hand. It's also the thickest of my Fishers at about 7/16" which tapers to about 6/16" just above the metal tip.

The Military Cap-O-Matic in matte black is OK, also. The black gives it a bit of a grip. It's 6/16" most of its length, tapering slightly at the tip.

I had been carrying the Cap-O-Matic for a long time, but the Zero Gravity/Police Pro is better. It has a great clip and the big button is as good as the push-down cap on the Military model. Both of these are the most comfortable I've found, more secure than the Bullet.

imho the fisher refills are terrible, very blotchy/scratchy in my experience, i like the fisher pens they are convenient to carry/etc, but i wouldnt ever wanna right a lot with one, i use them for writing checks, stuff like that, and for that they are fine, write a loong letter with one?? no thanks, i'll use my parker gel.
