Fisherspace pen smell?

I used the fisher made pen called 'Rite in the Rain', It's pretty good. One thing I can't get over is the smell, quite frankly, it smells like raw ass. Anyone ever have this problem? I was to buy the baliyo and am worried about the smell.

which "pocket" do you keep it in?
 
Spacepen ink seems to have a signature smell (can't say that I've noticed an ass-like quality about it). Sort of smells like vinyl coatings to me.

Now which would smell worse; ass that is raw or aged?
 
I've also noticed that the Space Pen ink has a particular odor. It's different than the ink from say, a regular old Bic ballpoint pen. Which doesn't smell all that wonderful either; a Bic pen's ink smells like, well, ink. The Space Pen doesn't smell so much like ink, although I wouldn't personally describe it as asslike. To me it smells almost exactly like rotten green bell peppers.

In any case I don't really notice it unless I'm really close to it. And my sense of smell is very acute. But I'm not writing lines and pages worth of stuff all at once, so it might be a quantity issue.
