Fishing Knife

I bet it would be a good sharkin' knife.
Are double edged knives legal in your state ?

DC...:D

That looks like the one the kid got kicked out of school for in Tn. It would be illegal in a number of states due to the double edge.--KV

I'd say: No.

Depends what you're going to be using it for. If it's for filleting, then there are plenty of knives designed specifically for this task. If it's for miscellaneous use, then I'd recommend a fixed, thin, stainless blade, around ~3" (and, as the previous commentators have suggested, not a 5" double-edged dagger).

I would get a knife that is better designed for the task at hand.

Fillet knives aren't all that expensive and can be found pretty easy.

My dad used to keep a Gerber Mark 2 on his boat. It wasn't all that great for cutting rope or monofilament or even bait due to the blade profile. He ended up breaking the blade off at the handle while cutting a watermelon and threw both parts overboard. :D

If you're the bait and that's the "hook", great fishing knife. Is that an evidence exhibit in a court case?

A good multi-tool (with pliers for those pesky swallowed hooks!) and a standard Mora Clipper (the thin blade is good for filleting) are all I use for fishing tasks. Never needed anything else.

A watermelon?! That's just sad...

Won't be worth a crap for fishing unless you bend it and grind a barb in it (Oh wait - this isn't W&C?).

Why would he throw a perfectly good watermelon overboard?!?!?!?!

Get a Spyderco Salt for fishing, there's different sizes. Unless you want a filet knife.
