My dad found this in a box in his garage. Large toothpick fishing knife. I've never seen one with a liner lock so I though I would post it. I think this was made by Camillus.

I'm liking that one a lot. Are those jigged bone scales?

Any other markings and the tang?

Is that a patent number on the liner lock, or something else?.

Very nice.

I like how the two-bladed fishing knife comes with a bottle opener. They really thought things through when putting that one in. Nothing quite as relaxing as being on a boat on a hot summer day with a couple beers to throw back as you wait for the fish to bite.

i believe they were military issued, really cool find, basically like the fishermans luck camillus with the yeller handle, cept for the black jigged handle and the bail and the cap lifter, i havent seen too many of these. Somebody in the camillus forum would probably be able to help ya

Anthony,

The scales are jigged derlin or some other composite. There are no other tang markings and the marking on the liner lock is "press" :)

Funny you mentioned the military issue part. It was found in box with a small military issued WWII bible. My dad owns several houses on the same street and this particular house was owned by WWII Army vet. We would invite him over for dinner on holidays because he had no family. He was married but never had kids and his wife died many years ago. His name was William Pence but we called him Bill and my sons called him Mr. Pence. :)

After Bill passed, the executor of his estate contacted my father and asked if he wanted the house at a much reduced price. He was trying to settle the estate quickly and Bill had no family so my father bought the house and everything in it. This was several years ago and my father is just now getting around to going through everything. There was also a Hammer brand serpentine jack with a cracked ice celluloid handle in the box.

Look at that.....thanks Ivan.

No problem, I'm a Camillus Fanboy:D
i believe the scales on yours may be celluloid, not positive would depend on the actual age of your knife, the darker cell doesnt seem to gassout as bad as the candy striped varieties! Mine i believe has as there is the weird corrosion on the back spring and inside the knife not to mention the weird pitting on the blade... its a candidate for my next rehandle project:thumbup:
