I almost made up my mind on a Mora all around model, but would like to hear other options. Will be used mainly for cutting bait and fishline.

I fish in both fresh and salt water, so it's better to be stainless.

Fixed blade for ease of cleaning, blade size between 3 and 5 inches.

Grippy, low maintance handle is a plus.

Max Price $40.

How about something from the Spyderco Salt series? The H1 will NOT rust.

My first thought was Mora as well, i once found a 300$ knife in a lake.. you don't want to be the guy that lost that!

One of the stainless Moras with plastic handles should be just the ticket for you. Most of Ragnar's will set you back around $12 or so, great service also - www.ragweedforge.com.
