Man I'm Jealous! I can't wait till its time to get out over here.

Great pics!

So did you catch dinner?

Looks like you had a blast. To bad about the fish not biting though. At least you got to get out

Looks like a good day out. I love going fishing in a gentle rain, it just seems to relax me. I have not flyfished in years, maybe it`s time to get back into it.

"A bad day on the water is better than a good day at work." LOL I have that exact same reel. I hope you got to hear it purr on a good fight! Looks like that rock fish was a real scrapper!

Same here. I just picked up some new spinning gear last weekend. I got the itch, bad.
Glad you could get out. Thanks for sharing.

very cool... any advice on where someone interested in fly fishing can start looking?
rods, reels, line strength?

the dragonfly brand reels/rods and line are very good quality for under 100$ each. Hard to find a better graphite rod with cork handle for the price. If your fish are 5lb or less a 5 weight rod is good unless you are shore fishing then go with a 6 wgt to allow for wind and longer casts. go with 9 ft to start.

cabelas makes a great starter kit for about 100 bucks. redigton makes a great starter set for about 120.00 it comes with a rod, reel, and line. I beleave it comes with a box of flies also.

I love my abel reel, it feels great on the fight. I can't wait until summer. we hava a ton of backpacking and fishing to do.

Cool pics Boomer. Thanks for posting.
I had a great time, and I kind of enjoyed the rain, although, I think it had something to do with the case of lockjaw that the fish had.

We're going to have to get out and try that pool again. It's so hard seeing a school or 3 to 4 pound rainbows, and not being able to catch them!
