fishpond gear

I have no experience with these packs/vests but they look great. That messenger bag they make is pretty darn cool!

I am an avid fly fisherman and I have quite a bunch of their gear. The chestpacks are in use almost every trip on the river.Have one of their boatbags, that I use on my driftboat.Quality is top notch on everything.I have a double haul which I use on those long days in the woods/rivers/creeks.Carries everything I need.

I just picked-up the Blue River for fly fishing, but it could readily be used as a small daypack.

It's versatile in that it can be worn as either a shoulder slinger or as a waist/lumbar pack as it has dedicated straps for both. It seems a well-built pack.

Those are some cool looking packs. I have a smaller chest pack (different brand) that is quite handy for fishing, but I can imagine you might like to reach objects on your hike without taking off the entire pack. Thanks for that link.

They are expensive but so far I have found it to be worth it. I've got one bag that is a couple of years old and other than a few stains it still looks new; no sign of wear on the stitching or zippers.

That is what's selling me on the FishPond brand - The quality!

At first, I thought someone would be nuts to pay that price but after handling them (also at Bass Pro in Concord/Charlotte) I think I started justifying the cost.

I think I will push ahead and get that bitterroot green. It just makes too much sense to overlook, for my needs.

Thank you all for responding with your thoughts/opinions. I really appreciate it.

Take care all,

Gibby

I have the same one and I've beaten the hell out of it. Great pack. I'd definitely get another one when this one finally dies.

Excellent quality, my pack has withstood a lot of abuse, worth the cost. To me, they are a bit heavier than they need to be though.

Would one of those chest packs work with a camelback? As I already have three camelbacks
