Fishy Auction

Gotta be some kind of scam.

He sent me links to two other auctions where 124s went for real high prices.

Let the buyer beware. If he offers something too good to be true......it probably is.

The way I see it.....if he can get a lot of people to send him money on PayPal.....and he gets the money out of Paypal before the SHTF.......he can keep the money and disappear.

Those who paid with credit cards through Paypal will get their money back.....PayPal will lose money.

Or.....maybe he's just a clumsy and inexperienced seller who looks crooked.

That's e-Bay for ya......you just never know.

(Ask about buy it now or make offer for buy it now) I don't know a whole lot about the bay,but normally they put a buy it now price right there for a buyer to pull the trigger.The last time I did the bay(years ago)I mailed my payment using a postal money order.Yesterday on the job I asked a woman if she had anything on her,she said no and was lying.I caught her and said,you know there's two old guys that's always going to know your lying.She said who's the other one?I smiled and told her, GOD!

Yeah, and auctions have more tipoffs than people.......many ways to spot potential trouble.

I sent the guy an e-mail and the response was quite odd......It seems like he's trying to get people to buy off e-Bay, but he did mention PayPal, so I don't know what he's up to.

His writing and the way he phrases things sounds foreign.

I sent a question on ebay asking for a buy it now price. They sent back an answer make offer. Was out of town unti,, today late and had an e-mail asking $225.00 plus shipping for knife. He ended the knife sometime in this week not enough bids. Something smells here.
 
Interesting too, that he started it as a three-day auction.

Anybody selling two great knives together would surely go with a ten-day auction.

But I strongly suspect there was never any intent to actually finish the auction.

Did not pass the smell test for me either. I would have liked one but I passed. I received the same "make me an offer email" from them. No thanks!!
