"hello to all you kooky, wacky, nutty, zany blade-type cats out there in the viewing audience." (sorry. just got back from vegas.)

Due to status as a relative f.n.g. to both the b.f. and serious knifework in general, i'm hoping the veterans of this site will forgive a "101"-type question:
in one of the threads, mongo mentioned having jerry fisk put a convex edge on a becker. it seems like a description of a convex edge would be pretty self explanatory, but would someone please protect me from myself and lay down exactly what the aforementioned convex edge is and what advantages it possesses over the becker factory edge?
as always, thank you for the benefit of you folks' experience and expertise.

Mr. Fisk put an edge on my Magnum camp so sharp you could shave a mouse and not wake him, slice a radish so thin you won't get gas... ya get the picture. Actually, these are Jerry's descriptions, not mine.;) Rather than try to explain what a convex edge is, I will direct you to our famous BFC denizen Buzzbait's world renowned convex edge FAQ... www.mhcable.com/~yocraft/sosak/convex.htm

This should hopefully answer your questions, and whet your appetite for convex blades.
Mongo:cool:

If you click on the link and go about half way down the page there are some drawings of the different shapes of the blade edges.

Hope this helps.
