I took a photo of my Fisk Boot Knife over the weekend and thought I would share as it's quite unique in several ways.

Jerry hasn't made many of this style in general, however with the nickel silver sheath and perfectly fluted elephant ivory handle it was quite a rare find.
In addition, Jerry's tells me he had misplaced his "MS" stamp at an inopportune time so this piece only received a "FISK" mark.

Quite frequently we hear of elephant ivory cracking and nickel silver tarnishing, however I think this one has past the test of time as I was told it's about six years old and the ivory is uncracked and the sheath is still beautiful.

Just goes to show it's not always the type of material used but the initial quality of it, the maker's ability to work it and the collector's ability to maintain it.

Thanks Coop for the photo tips.

Wow, that is one fantastic knife. Man you know how much I like ivory:D What does Jerry call that damascus pattern? What a combo, that should be a NLT.

Is the handle longer than the blade?

Dimensions, please!

WOW!!!!! VERY cool:D I read that a lot of the crazing and cracking with elephant ivory comes from getting it hot when working it.

I would say that the blade is slightly longer than the handle, but it all depends on the angle the photo was taken from.

That's a beauty.

Do you make the stands yourself?

Thanks guys for your views and comments.

Yes Joss, I make them for each specific knife generally using cherry or maple and Elk, Moose or deer antler or a combination of the above. The one below is Whitetail Deer and a Moose palm.

Very cool. Could you show a broarder picture of your set-up? I'm not user I understand the context. Is that a plexiglass box (open) on top a piece of furniture?
