I took a photo of my Fisk Boot Knife over the weekend and thought I would share as it's quite unique in several ways.
Jerry hasn't made many of this style in general, however with the nickel silver sheath and perfectly fluted elephant ivory handle it was quite a rare find.
In addition, Jerry's tells me he had misplaced his "MS" stamp at an inopportune time so this piece only received a "FISK" mark.
Quite frequently we hear of elephant ivory cracking and nickel silver tarnishing, however I think this one has past the test of time as I was told it's about six years old and the ivory is uncracked and the sheath is still beautiful.
Just goes to show it's not always the type of material used but the initial quality of it, the maker's ability to work it and the collector's ability to maintain it.
Thanks Coop for the photo tips.
