Jerry Fisk, MS

Stag Bowie

9 1/2" blade, 14 1/2" OAL. Damascus blade, stag handle, peened guard, ferrule and butt cap.

I've owned a few smaller damscus Fisk pieces over the years, but this is the first damascus bowie that I have from this legendary maker. It's a beaut - lots of terrific shimmer to this pattern - the light just dances up and down the length of the blade. A fancy tooled Rowe sheath (not shown) accompanies this piece.

Photo by Coop even though it don't say so.

This was a purchase from a fellow collector and my first buy of the show.

Craig Camerer, JS

Eastside Fighter

12" blade, 17 3/4" OAL, walrus ivory handle, damascus double-guard, ferrule and butt cap.

About a year ago I saw Craig post up his first Eastside Fighter model and immediately placed an order. That knife was rendered in stag, I requested ivory for mine and left the rest up to Craig. It was delivered at the show and it is a terrific piece of work. The flawless grinds and immaculate blade finish (1200 grit) were the first features to impress. You simply would not believe how quick and well balanced this piece is for such a large piece - the largest I currently own. You can believe the "fighter" designation, notwithstanding the dimensions. A first rate (is there any other kind) Paul Long sheath completes the package.

Burt Foster, MS

Integral Fighter

Blade length of just under 7" with an overall length a shade over 11 1/2", gorgeous amber stag grips surround the mirror-polished integral full tang.

Saw this piece on the preview thread and placed it high on my priority list. When I was last at Blade some three years ago, Burt was just turning out his first few forged integrals. IMHO he now stands as one of the pre-eminent makers of the genre. This piece, together with that partially shown in my avatar, demonstrate his mastery of the elegant, flowing lines that are the hallmark of these deceptively simple-looking knives.

First rate sheath, first rate photo are both by the maker himself.

Beautiful Fisk Southern Bowie- Glad it finally got a Coop photo as it sure derserves it. A great combination of outstanding stag and damascus.

Craig Camerer Fighter - One of his best pieces yet. Can't wait to see his pieces at Jerry's Micro Show in October. Great Paul Long sheath.

Burt Foster Integral Fighter - Got to handle this piece and it is outstandng. Execution to the higest level.

Those are exquisite pieces. I love Burt Fosters integrals and that one is a beauty. Congratulations!

Outstanding,Roger! Congratulations!
I'm sure your new Fisk Damascus defines chatoyancy, and stag to die for.
And I remember you mentioning a walrus handle for Craig's Eastside Fighter but this surpasses anything I could have conjured up.
The Foster integral is sublime and more dreamy stag,a Cooplike image as well.
Thanks for the mini-Show!

You have great taste, Roger! I love the simple elegance of these pieces - a quality much harder to achieve than some folks might imagine - and, IMHO, always the result of talent and experience combined.

Roger,

Great haul, I particularly like the Fisk & Foster. Do you know what the fittings of the Fisk are made of? It looks like SS or sterling from here.

Cheers,

Joss

Pretty darn nice for Part 1! Really like all three of these. Craig's large Eastside Fighter with ivory is a real winner! My favorite piece from him to date.
Great blades, all!

Yeah, he musters warm smiles and makes decent knives, but life has taught me to be wary of black hatted cowboys. If the ABS commish had any mettle, he'd slap 6 mo. probation on him for unseemly attire. That said, his hat looks downright chic compared to that rabbi hat polluting this forum recently.

Seriously, Buddy expresses my thoughts better than I.

WOW...great knives all of them Roger.

I would also say that is probably the nicest Camerer i've seen.

Joss, it's nickle silver with a stippled (hammered) finish.
