Does anyone know anything about the full size Fiskars axes? I'm looking at either the 28" or 23" chopper. Was wondering how they perform compared to other brands and which handle length would be best. This would be a general purpose, light/minimal use axe. Thinking in the truck on a back road type use with occasional splitting duty. I'm asking for myself 6'0" tall and my buddy 5'9" tall if that makes any difference.:o Thanks.

Well, people say that they are very durable and cut nicely. Almost everyone has one here at finland. In my opinion, it's just a bit too light and the plastic construction makes it too flexible and therefore uneffective. I like the traditional wooden handle with solid big heavy blade that cuts with it's own weight.

But as mentioned, the plastic makes it very durable thought.

Fiskars is a highly rated company. The larger axes have very light handles and take some getting used to if you grew up with heavier wooden handles. The designs are excellent and the heads take a wicked edge if you do your part. They are very durable as mentioned by A.L. and would not break if you struck the handle by accident.

I always carry a smaller Fiskars axe in the Jeep for anything that may need chopping. I just don't see how you can make a mistake by purchasing one or two.
