FYI
I saw the Fiskars hatchet (aka sport axe) at a local Target department store for an everyday price of $19.99. This is cheapest I've seen.

Since they are a national chain, there might be one in your area.

Funny you should post this today. I just returned home from our local Home Depot and seen their splitting and chopping axes. They were out of the hatchet however, but the price tag was 19.99 also.

Their edges looked pretty sharp for a production axe, as best as I could tell with them in there protective shipping package.

I have one of the hatchets and can tell you it takes a beating. Well worth the price. I use it almost extensively on the trapline and it has choped its way into may frozen dirtholes. All of our ground is frozen in the winter and the hatchet works much better than a e-tool.
With that said if you are using it for wood chopping only, nothing beats a GB. When i received my GB it came shaven hair sharp!!!!!
Truly in a class of its own, but no ground chopping with that beaut...
