I've been looking at my fiskars X7 and the hollow handle looks like it could hold a couple little things, maybe a small kit of some sort. But I can't figure out how to close the end up and still be able to open it up regularly. I don't want to use tape or anything, I was thinking some kind of plug but I don't know. Anyone out there use the handle of their fiskars to keep gear in or anything similar with a hollow handle? If so how do you keep it closed? And also what do you keep in there? Thanks to anyone who can help

I used to keep a few things in there, and used a few strips of duct tape to keep it in, but there was a bandana stuffed in last to keep it from rattling and keep the sharp things from ripping the tape. It was like a mini bic and a firesteel, buck hartsook, fatwood, can't remember the rest. Also wrapped some twine around the handle and then another layer of duct tape, plus a few wraps of duct tape itself.

The tape worked because I was not opening it up regularly, it was just emergency stuff in case I was left with just the axe. If you really want to make it part of your main kit, whittle a wooden plug and drill a hole through it and the lanyard tube, the lanyard will hold it in.

Just thought of using sculpy, if you can get it in there and out without deforming it, you can bake it and get a nice plug.
