When you fit the clips to a wrap around sheath do you glue/sew a piece of leather on the inside to protect the blade ??
Thank You

Richard,Some do some dont...You would get more advise if you asked this over in shop talk or on one of the many other forums with sheath making sections.

Richo,

Sew a separate piece to the out side of the sheath to hold the clip. Obviously do this before you fold the main piece and stitch. Alternately you may find it easier to make a box sheath, again with a separate piece on the outside to accomodate the clip.

I use to make quite a few clip sheaths but went off them. Main problem is stiking a good balance between tight enough fit to retain knife verses too tight a fit that has you pulling the sheath off your belt/boot. Having to use two hands defeats the purpose of a good sheath. Happy stitching mate.

Thanks Peter, didn`t even think about that I think its going to be a box sheath now ,this one is for me to look at (sort of show and tell),we can`t carry daggers here so I am not too worried if is a bit loose.
