I have been away from the forum for 4 months for personal reasons.
No, not rehab or prison or anything like that, not that it would really matter.
I do not see any postings by Fitzo.
Anyone know why? Is he okay?

Mike

He left for some reason. It's too bad; I always thought he was a voice of reason here.

Thanks Phillip, that is too bad indeed.
I got a lot of good advice from Fitzo in the past and I also enjoyed his sense of humor.
Thanks again for the heads up.

Mike

Maybe we should try to get him back? I also enjoyed his humor, and he always had something useful to say.

Fitzo is one hell of nice guy, and has much so knowledge to be shared here. He was always willing to jump in with advice when asked.

He can still be found from time-to-time on other forums, and may be found at times on PalTalk. Very knowledgeable individual and so willing to share information.

Come back Mike............. We miss you............

Robert

Thanks Howiesatwork, link worked this time.

Once again I say....too bad.

It would be good to have you back Fitzo, you and big bird.;)

Mike

He simply got burned out by the attitudes and sometimes mean spiritedness of the forums, plus answering the same questions day after day by people demanding answers, and too lazy to use a search function or even pick up a book to help themselves.

Can't say as I blame him. More and more makers are staying away.

Mikes been working on his health , the forums can be a health trap and additive also,, he has decided to work in a direction that will benefit mind an body.. I think Nanny wants her man back too ;)

Hello, folks.

Thank you all for the kind words. I appreciate them, and am gratified some of what I have said was well received in the past.

I grew too crabby here. I let things bother me. Over "knives and knifemakers and their opinions", when I have far more important issues to deal with in my life. It was time to remove that self-induced stress. It's that simple.

I still read daily, but selectively, because I still want to learn. I can now ignore the crap. Non-participation has proven to be both beneficial and enjoyable.

Again, I thank you for the kind words. I wish you good health and happiness.

Good to see you drop by Fitzo! I have to take a break from the forums sometimes also. When the attitude eclipses the info. then it's time to check out. When great bladesmiths go into the "read only" mode the forums are diminished and everyone losses.

Hey Fitzo,

Good of you to post, seems a lot of us were wondering about you.

If some attitudes on the forum were getting you twisted then better you just read although as B.Finnigan says, those of us who like to learn feel it when a fellow like you stays out of it with your advice.
Anyhow, a mans well being is far more important and we all owe it to our families to be as well as possible and to stick around for them for as long as possible.
It is said that nobody is irreplacable, that may be true in many regards but families cannot replace their special ones and you Fitzo, must be very special to many people.
Take care buddy, I have enjoyed some good humor with you.
The forum needs another street fighter though.;) Not many men nowadays have the balls to say it like it is, me included.

Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for stopping in.
Your input was valueable advice, but I can understand that this is a voluntarily participated in medium (my apologies to all teachers for that sentence structure). I try to read alot and post some, but I don't like it when it get argumentative or mean....this is a forum after all.....on a good day it is informative and on a bad day ...thats why to exit the forum.
But keep stopping in and decide whether to post or not and stay with health, family, and your beliefs.....
Take Care,
