Ok let's change it up a little . Usually we are talking about folder with these two company . I don't own a Benchmade fix blade and the fix blade I own from Spyderco is a mule . That said I will like to know what people briefer when it come to fix blade Benchmade or Spyderco .

I like bechmade design over spyderco . And benchmade price on there fix blade are usually better . The benchamde bushcrafter is calling me .

I'm going to have to give it the old apples and oranges thing. Their fixed blade lineups look like completely different animals to me. The great looking Temperance 2 is nothing like the tough looking Nimravus.

If I need a rust free slicer I'm going with Spyderco. If I want something that looks like it's straight from the military issue catalog then there is Benchmade. The lineups of the street beat, sprig, aqua salt and ronin just don't directly compare to an SOCP dagger, contego, Adamas fixed blade, and rescue hooks, in my opinion. And that's not a problem, there are definitely markets for each, I am not positive that they are 100% directly competitive though.

A favorite of mine from each company is the Benchmade bushcrafter and the Spyderco Temperance 2. I often carry an SOCP dagger as a back up knife.

Benchmade's new Sibert 119 looks like it will be a winner. I do like their bushcraft also. Never really saw and Spyderco designs I liked.

Yeah I am digging that new Benchmade bowie as well. Satin, plain edge of course, although I have absolutely zero use for a knife of that size and shape, I just think it looks nice.

I see what you are saying . Spyderco knives are much thinner and in my opinion don't look to be as strong . When it come to fix blade I don't look for slicer that's what I'll use my pocket knife . I'm looking for a tuff blade that can take a beating . Thats why I stick with company that make strictly fix blade . That said IMHO benchmade makes fix blade that can compete with BRK And ESEE and others . Like I said I don't own one yet but they look like they can take a hard task .

The benchmade Bushcrafter is an excellent knife. Keep in mind thou it's not a scandi so it's not going to cut like one, but it is ground pretty thin behind the edge and once you tweak the factory edge it just glides thru wood.

I own a Benchmade 162 bushcraft knife and have been very happy with it. However, if I had to do it again, I would purchase a Survive! GSO knife instead. The GSO is, IMHO, a much better knife with a much, much better sheath.

I can't speak about the Spyderco shown in the picture above but, dang, it is a beautiful looking piece of kit.

The Bushcrafter is much easier to come by thou.

I'm still going to pick Spyderco every time, though I think both companies' fixed blades are way overpriced. I prefer Cold Steel and Mora for fixed blades.

Sypderco's BushcraftUK fixed blade is one of my all time favorites. Good O1 steel, and a true Scandi grind. I bought one of the first ones, that turned out to have a flawed handle. I fixed that myself, and it has given me a lot of excellent use since.

I also think they play different leagues, but I'm happy as hell with my Aqua Salt!!!

If I had to choose, I'd stay with Spyderco, but I'll admit those new 2016 buschraft knives look like true winners, awesome fixed blades!
