Fix for BK24 sheath retention?

I've had a BK24 for a few months, and since adding the factory scales, I love it.
...and after removing the locking mechanism on the new style factory sheath, because it was just too thick and pointy to wear under my shirt, I really like the sheath as well.
The sheath, however, has developed an issue. Retention over time has become so weak that I don't feel comfortable wearing the knife handle down anymore. Maybe this is because of the new, softer plastic, but regardless of the reason, I need to find a fix. I don't want to screw the locking mechanism back on.

Has anyone found a way to improve retention on the BK11/14/24 sheath? Could it be melted a bit and squeezed over the knife like one would with Kydex?

All ideas appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. I know, I know, you want photos. It's not going to happen with my current connection... but I have a ton that I will share when I back to reasonable internet in a couple of months.

try a heat gun and reform it a little...

or buy some nice kydex? :D

Near boiling water should work as well, just submerge the part you want to tweak for a few seconds until pliable enough then remove and pinch until cool. I've used this on both casting resins and kydex, so it should work here as well.

I wanted to know this because I've been working with a jerry rigged sheath for my bk14 for a long time now... Been kinda annoying that there factory sheaths retention was completely lost and now will fall right out if I hold it upside down

as a temp fix until I buy some kydex, I actually added a retention strap on mine. believe it or not, one of those shock cord hair ties works perfect (stole one from my fiancé lol) i can take a pick when i get home later

Thanks for all the replies!
It looks like I will be trying to reshape the plastic with boiling water, and if that fails, I'll go with a hair bungee.
Some kydex is definitely on the wish list, but it will have to wait until I have a mailing address.
