I have a Maserin 392/CN Starlight and I love the knife the only issues I have is that I can either tighten the pivot to where you can't flick the knife open in one motion or have it where you can wrist flick the knife open from the closed position. I would assume the 2nd scenario is due to a weak detent so that is what I want to fix. I just have no idea how to go about it and what risks or difficulty there is with it. I have owned the knife for ~2 years and love many things about it just wish to solve this one issue. I am not even opposed to sending it out but sending it back to Maserin doesn't seem like a worthwhile option.

Are you living in an area where being able to gravity shake the knife out makes it illegal? If not I would just not worry about it.

If you use the proper technique there are almost no folders that cannot be gravity shaken open.

No legal restrictions just curious about fixing it and this is a little too easy to gravity shake in my book is all. If the cost or risk is too great certain will keep the knife as is but if it can be remedied w/o much cost or potential damage/problems it might be worth it.

Send it back under warranty and hopefully they understand the issue.

Else you can try bending the lockbar and or adjusting the detent in the lockbar.

Beautiful knife btw. I honestly just wouldn’t mess with it. Just don’t gravity shake the knife open. Is is tip down too so I doubt it is going to be opening in your pocket.
