Texas Knifemakers supply sells a spray product called Fix-it.
I read that you spray it on a handle then buff it off.
Anybody tried this stuff?
If so did it work for you?
Thanks
Robert

Robert, I've used it in the past, on open grained woods. It worked as advertised. Spray 2-3 coats on, let it dry. Buff at right angles to the grain.
I had heard that this stuff was not going to be sold anymore. Have you heard anything on that?

Somebody posted a while ago that the company that makes the stuff is no longer going to be making it. Since then I beleive TKS no longer carries it. I have used it, and I love for woods with open grain, it a very easy way to finish them very nicely.

Yes, Minwax sanding sealer. Put it on thick, with a brush, 2-3 coats. Dry with a heat gun, or hair dryer, takes about a minute. The rest is like fix it, buff it at right angles to the grain, till you get where you want to be.

I recently used super glue also, mainly because I couldn't find anything else that seemed like it would work. It filled the pores and "fixed" an otherwise rather splintery wood. I've put Minwax on my shopping list though, sounds like just the ticket. I too will miss Fix-It, great stuff.
