I honestly don't understand why my blur rusted up. I've only had it a month and used it once to cut an Apple then washed it with soap and water. My military has been with me since January and cut through sugar cane, tons of boxes, clam packs, fruit, food, and just about everything in between. No rust on that?

My real question is...how can I get rid of the rust. Do I need to send it into Kershaw? Should I satin finish it? I love the knife but now it looks like a Danny cheetah. Help please.

Stonewashed blades tend to rust more than other finishes. I prefer to use Brasso to get rid of any crap on my knives be it rust, tape, or otherwise.

You could probably get away with a nylon scrub brush and some barkeepers friend or similiar, or maybe some green rubbing compound and a cotton rag. I had a similiar issue on some beadblasted O1. You may change the finish slightly, but for me it was fine just to do the whole side so it didn't show.

I wouldn't mess with it. Send it in to Kershaw. They have the best service department on the planet. You will basically get a new knife, no foolin. It's the tough, but safe call if you want it to be like new. If you don't mind changing the look of the blade, some 0000 steel wool and light oil will remove the rust... and the printing most likely. You will have a shinier blade that will be more resistant to rust in the future though.

I'd send it back, rusting like that could be a sign of a failed HT.

I've had this problem with stonewashed Kershaws and Gerbers before.
A quick rubbing with a good metal polish like Autosol will both take care of the surface rust and prevent future spots from forming.
