Hey I was wondering what a good benchmade was for kitchen / food prep. I was looking at the Fixed Contego. What do you guys think?

I would imagine the fixed Contego uses fairly thick blade stock, though that's just a guess. I would want to use the thinnest blade as possible and even then it will likely be substantially thicker than the average kitchen knife. Maybe something from the hunting series that is less 'tactical'?

What would you like to do to your food? Mush it up? Any non culinary knife save a few thin blades will do a poor job of kitchen tasks no matter where the kitchen is located.
BM made some Gold Series Chef's sets.

This is my new to be "food prep knife" for the outdoors etc.

This. My Shun kitchen knives are the ticket in our kitchen. Easy to sharpen and have lasted for years. My Ritter Grip does OK as does my 800 AFCK (even better...an awesome knife...)
