I have all kinds lets call them "hobbies / collections". I get one thing in my head and can't get it out until I have several of the best of whatevers and read the internet on them until I am blue in the face. Now it happens to be knives.

I currently have a 7" black blade fixed K-bar that I use all of the time for camping and hunting. I really like it alot. Now I "need" the next step up. I want the same configuration just better quality, something to really warm up to. I would like it to have a kydex holster rather than the leather, but that is the bottom of the list.

On my other "hobby" forums, I really hate seeing posts like this, however, help a guy out with some brands and such.

7 inch ISH fixed blade, used mostly for camping, hunting. I like the half serrated. $100 range. Thanks for point me in the right direction

Have a look at the ESEE fixed blades. Previously known as RAT. The rc6 might be just what your looking for :)

You, my friend, have just described the Becker BK7. The sheath it comes with is functional but nothing to write home about (can get after market Kydex if you want) but the knife itself is 7" of pure bad-to-the-bone. I honestly like the BK9 (9" blade) and the BK2 (5" blade 1/4 thick) better but the BK7 flat out rocks.

If you like the Kabar, check out the Becker BK 7. Made by Kabar. Reasonable tough, knife. Check out the Becker forum for more stuff too :D

Lots of good blades in this category. Happy hunting.

I have a Muela Scorpion which is great, comes in blue or stainless. 3/16 440 stainless, sabre flat grind, great feel, light and fast

I vote for the BK-7 also. I own one and it's a serious knife.

I laughed my butt off when I read your post. Do you think it's possible we were separated at birth!?! I am EXACTLY the same way! Curse the internet! HAHAHA!!!!

They're not serrated but they are great knives.

Becker BK7
Kabar JAB Potbelly (my personal favorite)

Go for the ESEE RC6. Great knife company that will stand behind their product. IF you could manage to break it, they will replace it.

You can get them with serrated blades if thats what you like, and it comes with a sheath.

You would not be dissapointed by this knife.

If you like Ka-Bars, you could take a look at the Extreme Fighthing/Utility Ka-bar in D2 (not a very appreciated model, don't know why) or the Becker Combat Utility Knife.

However, If you already like your knife you could just upgrade to another configuration of Ka-Bar (green or tan with serrations and kydex sheath)

The Muela Scorpion is also cool, as are ESEE Knives.

May I also suggest the Gerber LHR? Not the best steel around but cool design and sheath; serrated, full tang, price tag right at the $100 limit.

Cough up a few bucks over 100 and get an ESEE-6. Great knife at twice the price. Easily obtained on the Internet from dozens of places in the $100-$120 range depending. It is called "the 6" but the cutting edge is more than the 6 inches and the blade itself is very close to 7".

Lifetime warrenty no matter what you do to it...baton, pry, you name it, it is covered by their warrenty. Their warrenty specifically says you can "abuse" it too and still be covered. Rust, loss, or theft are the only things not covered.

Becker also. I cannot vouche for those personally but they are well thought of and they've probably got a 7" for less than $100. Not dissimilar to ESEE just not as nice and not sure about the warrenty...but well thought of.

ESEE 6:thumbup:, Its a great knife made by good people with a kick azz warranty. Check it out, you wont be disappointed i promise you.:D

ESEE 6, a good step up , full thickness tang, full length of handle , marcata handle scales, kydex sheath, life time warranty, etc etc well worth a look. ps only to pleased to help. CHEERS FARON
