I want to buy a fixed blade bowie as my next knife. Over all length should be from 6.5 - 8 inches. Yes, this is a small blade, but I want to be able to slip it in my pocket for convenience. Price range is up to 250 bucks unless there's something super awesome in which case I'll gladly up that to 300. I'd prefer synthetic handle material like g10 or micarta, but wood is fine too. I'm not a big fan of bone or antler for handle.

What are your recommendations?

Hi harkamus -

I had Stomper make me a Gambler's Bowie with an 8" blade.

I do love it, and it's a real beauty.

I chose Maple Burl for the scales, but Stomper can use micarta or G10 - whatever you prefer.

On the plus side, you can get your knife made any way you like within reason for well within your price range.

Tom Krein was the only one I knew of the top of my head. I looked into Laconico after he was mentioned, but his website seems to be down. Any pics of his smaller bowies?

Hi harkamus -

I apologize - I thought you wanted an 8" BLADE - need to read more closely in the early morning hours.

However, Stomper would be more than happy to make you a much smaller bowie in whatever style you desire.
