I purchased this beautiful knife a couple of weeks ago from Asheville, NC knife maker Gerald "Gerry" L. Drew. It's OAL is 8.5", edge is 4", blade thickness is .25" and scales are Curly Maple. Ergonomically speaking its is one of the most comfortable knives I've ever had the pleasure to hold.

I was going to say the same thing. The Grohman type knife is a truly superior ergonomic design. 1/4inch thickness seems a little extreme for a 4inch hunter blade, but it takes all sorts ... JUst saw a post by Schanz Juergen with a 1/2inch thick blade !! :D NIce curly maple too. Jason.

Whoops!! :o :o :o The blade is actually 1/8 inch, sorry. I measured the knife the night before I posted this thread, after a few glasses of wine. It's ATS-34 BTW. Really sweet knife. Anyway, sorry again. :o :o :o ;)
