Can someone tell me if it is legal to carry a fixed blade in the state of georgia?

i know you cant in sc because people get alot of trouble for it here for anything over 2 inches on the blade.

In SC all you have to say is that you are returning from or going to a hunt. Have a current Hunting license and there isn't much they can do. Also, know what is in season or just say you were 'hog hunting' since they are always in season.

Thats good advise,If i ever get stopped by the L.E.O. I`ll have to remember to tell them i am going hog hunting.;)

I thought that the AKTI got the 2 inch provision in SC law killed this past legislative session?

So can you carry a fixed blade in Georgia? I want a Rat Izula but I don't want to get in trouble for carrying.

Georgia law is somewhat vague. I wouldn't suggest carrying a dirk or bowie knife, especially concealed, unless there was a good reason like going to or from hunting etc.

Otherwise state law doesn't specifically prohibit the carrying of fixed blades, although many cities have their own laws. I think it would be a good idea to have a ready answer if you are ever questioned by a LEO. If you are a law-abiding citizen and are carrying the knife for work or recreation then you probably wouldn't have a problem.
