For use in the woods, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping etc. How do you carry your blade? What do you find works best?

I carry my A1 on my right thigh. I find that i can reach it without issues no matter what position i am in, or whatever jacket or addition gear i am wearing/carrying. When i relax my arms my right hand is perfectly positioned to grab my A1. I use a SOG seal team elite sheath for my A1..works really well.

how do you carry your knife and why?

When i use a large one like my kabar, on my belt strongside just infront of the second belt loop so i can access my pockets and it feels more natural to draw. when I cary a smaller knife either on my neck or crossdraw on my belt. The only time I can legitimately backpack is with scouts and they dont allow fixed blades so I have never needed to adjust those normal carrying positions.

Right rear pocket.Out of the way of my gear, but easy to get to. 6 1/2" OAL ,3" Blade.

I keep a slightly larger knife in my pack, 8 1/8" OAL ,3 7/8" blade. But I seldom use it.My EDC handles pretty much everything.

Front left cross draw position, over the outer most cloth.

Todd A., that's very cool hip pocket sheath.

For Large knives (9" +) like my Busse CGFBM and CS Trail Masters I carry them on my weak side for a cross draw, Smaller fixed blades I carry on my strong side.

I'm rather ignorant as far as fixed blades go, just starting to get into them, but what knife is this? :)

That one was made by Blade Forums very own Stomper.(JK Handmade Knives). He has his own forum in the Makers section. He calls it the Anniversary EDC. He also made the other one, that one is his Hiker model.

If your just getting started into fixed blades browse through the makers section when you get the time. Many talented members here.

The pocket sheath is a generic one made by Sharpshooter Sheath Systems, sold by Knives Ship Free. Stomper made me a nice belt sheath that I also use around the house or in town.

I tend to just slip my knife, in it's sheath, in my pocket.

And, if I am worried about losing it, I tie a tether to my waist.
