Recently I have gotten the itch for a fixed blade edc, and while i have my choice of cool fixed blades, I cant find one that fits my criteria.
NEEDS
Blade between 2.75 and 3.75 inches
full four finger grip for med sized hands (3.5 inches)
relatively thin blade under 3mm
under 100 bucks for knife and sheath
non "tactical"
made in the USA
comes with handle scales (see non tactical)
WANTS
factory sheath that allows for cross draw horizontal (i am amusing a custom sheath would cost 30 dollars )
carbon steel
not custom

I know there are a lot of awesome knives that meet a lot of these like the ESEE Izula; I may end up giving up on some of these but i was wondering if any of y'all had seen a knife like this on your travels.
Thanks,
Paul

I would go ahead and say the ESEE Izula II. It will not break the bank at all and comes with about everything you want and is made by a solid company in the U.S.A.

my big problem with the IzulaII (i have owned one previously) is that in the factory sheath, it likes to wobble around, the handle is just to heavy for the blade to make it stable.

Swamp Rat Rodent solution. I know it's a little more expensive than what you want, And doesn't come with a sheath. But I think you would find it to be perfect for your wants. And having a sheath made would give you exactly what you want.

And it's SR101. Made in the USA and a lifetime warranty.

Hope that helps. If not, hey I tried.

Im not sure what you mean by tactical, but my TOPS XL fdx is a phenominal edc knife. comes with an awesome kydex sheath with a steel clip that can be worn inside the waistband if desired. its a 3" blade, g10 scaled, and has a traction coating over 1095 steel. I may be wrong but I think tops has their heat treat done by Crucible, so you know its good.

A few comes to mind.

Ka-bar Becker 14; 1095 steel, but the blade might be a bit on the thick side.
Benchmade 15015; D2 semi-stainless, comes with a leather sheath so it will need a custom sheath for horizontal draw.
Survive 3.5; 3V semi-stainless, meets all requirements but well over budget.

I had the same itch last year. I bought a blackjack neck knife and a custom wilder forge. Both great knives! I now use the wilder for a kitchen knife and the other sits in a drawer. I was hoping to like em as an edc, but fixed blades weren't for me as edc blades.

How about a Spyderco Moran? Not carbon steel and not usa made. But it is a really nice knife.

My EDC fixed blade was made by Bob Dozier, but it was not close to $100. It's just about perfect.

Check out Michael Morris. He makes a few knives that fit your description and in my opinion, at incredible prices. Although you might consider them custom there shouldn't be a wait nor are the prices over your budget. I have an EDC 60 and it's fantastic! The PeeWee and PeeWee XL are similar although the blade length is closer to 2.5" than 2.75"
