I am currently in the market for a fixed blade EDC and have pretty much settled on a Bob Dozier K-1 Utility knife. My questions are: is there a better bang for the $200.00? Does anyone else EDC this particular blade? If so would you buy it again? How long is the wait for one?

I am open to the suggestions of those you with much more experience than myself.

Thanks.

I am not sure about the wait, but you can't go wrong with a Dozier. I still can't believe that he hasn't raised his prices as his popularity went up.

A Dozier has been mentioned, but I keep a Mora in my truck, and carry an Ontario RAT3 as my daily EDC. I am going to be sanding the black coating off, and will probably get a custom handle put on, its too small for my hands. Other than that, I like it. On the weekends, I take either my Ritter MK3 FB with me, or my Howling Rat, which is going to be "de-coated" as soon as I find the time.

A great EDC from Bob Dozier is the model 6 in a horizontal carry sheath.
Whichever Dozier you choose I don't think you can go wrong. His knives are well worth the prices.

Check out the offerings from Bark River. Plenty to choose from there. Gene Ingram also does excellent work if you want to stick with D2 steel.

I think that is a great bang for the buck knife. Dozier makes great stuff !

I like the Doziers and also Tom Krein's knives ( TK8 & TK7 ).

Go with the Dozier!!!
You won't regret it and will likely buy many more...

My pocket FB's are a Nemesis Knives Arch Ally & a Tom Krein TK-2, in D2, with Mark Nelson micarta.

Dozier's craftmanship is very high but unfortunately, the handles are small and slick for me. I can't own a small utility knife made by him. I had to get rid of mine. But I like a 4" handle.

Lynn Griffith's knives are really good too.

id take a look at some busse knives as well if you want a larger edc fixed blade. Tjhe badger is a really nice edc type blade. Very sturdy too=)

I'd like to mention David Winston. He posts on this forum. He made a pair of great hunters for me. They were:
-Under $200
-4 1/8"
-Fluted scales
-D2
-Sharp and gorgeous

David Winston does have some very nice looking blades on his website, thank you.
