From what is commonly available for production knives, who do you think has the best fit and finish in fixed blade models? I am focusing on hunting knife styles, in the 3 ½” to 5 ½” blade length. I am open to almost anything as long as it fits the above criteria and stays under about $225. Thanks.

Take a look at Bob Dozier's hunting knives. He has a few 3.5" and up, just under your price. There's a lot of good knives out there, but none better than his.

I was gonna say the same thing.  I use one of his Personal Utility knives when I fish and am outdoors. Very nice.

I'll give a third vote for a Dozier. It isn't production, but it's well within your price range and his stuff is outstanding. I have a Straight Personal which I've carried a lot and it's a great knife, I also just ordered his Ti Lockback for my new EDC and have very high expectations for it as well. Can't go wrong with a Dozier.

You've got a lot of room to play with. I think just about every manufacturer makes quality fixes blade for under that price. Good Luck.

Well, for production FBs, the nicest one I have is a Bark River. They can easily be found way under your price limit. If you want to spend $225 or less, then everybody's recommendation for Dozier is excellent. I have two of his knives and they are great. I also highly recommend Tom Krein's stuff. He worked for Dozier for a few years and really makes some nice, unique knives. Either of these choices will get you a top-quality knife.

Fallkniven make GREAT knives!!!

I would also agree about Bob Dozier's knives, they are awesome!!

In your price range I would definitely take a look at Geno's work.I own 5 and all of them exhibit the same top quality fit and finish.Great leather sheaths as well.
