State law allows up to 4" knives to be carried. You can open up your criteria to include these. The 3" designation is only if you're admittedly carrying the knife "with unlawful intent." Since you won't be using the knife unlawfully, or carrying it to use unlawfully, you're fine.

Knifenut1013,
In my opinion, you're a prime candidate for a Bark River mini-Skinner. 2-5/8" blade, 12C27 stainless steel, $80 to $150 depending on scales - a near perfect size for EDC. Keep the BRKT sheath and have another made to allow more of the scales to extend out from the sheath.

If not that, then the Benchmade Snody 210TK neck knife. S30V steel, 2-1/8" blade, carbon fiber/G-10 scales, Kydex snap-fit inverted carry sheath. About $110 anywhere on the net. Try New Graham.

Blackhawk Kalista. First production run was ATS34, second was VG10. 3.3 inch blade, nice handle that works with a lot of different grips. Very concealable. The sheath and concealment hardware that comes standard with it are excellent. Great value at about $120 or sometimes less.

how about Fallkniven F1?
VG10 blade and it is a pretty beautiful and practical knife
the price should be around 80 bucks.

Benchmade 210:
Overall Length: 5.50"
Blade Length: 2.10"
Blade Thickness: 0.140"
Blade Material: CPM-S30V Stainless (59-61 HRC)

Strider ED : Overall Length: 6.5 inches
Blade Length: 2.5 inches S30v $125

Coogler M2 : Total Length: 6.25 inches
Blade Length: 2.75 inches 1'2 S30v $175

Buck Mayo Kaala, S30V but the blade is 3 1/8 ( but price around $60 )

Tom Krein's knives are a great deal. And one of the best buys in a custom fixed blade.

Yeah. The Kalista is a great knife. It is really versatile. I demonstrate grips here.
