Fixed blade for pocket carry.

I've been looking at the Cold Steel Peace Maker II, but am open to suggestions. I'm looking for a fixed blade I can carry in my front pocket, I'd prefer if the sheath has a clip to keep it in place and size is a non-issue as I have very deep pockets. Cost however is a issue, please keep below 30ish. Southpaw compatibility essential.

How about the Brous Silent Soldier? It's plenty small enough for pocket carry, and the clip on the sheath can be positioned for left or right carry in any orientation (vertical, horizontal, upside down, whatever). It's a bit unconventional in design, but the D2 has a very solid heat treat and I've not had any problems with discoloration or rust (one of my fears when I bought the knife). It's surprisingly comfortable to use and the wharnie design is very useful. They're around $100 new (up to $150 for some of the newer and coated versions), but I picked one up on the exchange for $50 or so a couple months back.

Another option would be the SOG production version of the silent soldier, called the Snarl, which goes for <$40. Lesser steel of course, and I don't know what the sheath is like, but it's an decent budget choice.

This guy about nailed it! I could not justify buying a brous... so I got a sog snarl! Its a badass knife, perfect for a utility cutter. I run mine on my boots though.

I dont really like fixed blades in my pocket... The weight ratio is just very uncomfortable to me (unless were talking a neck knife, or a tiny blade like the sog snarl)...

another small blade that would fit the bill is the TOPS street scalpel. I also run this one on my boots but itd be an awesome pocket knife.

All good suggestions. You could also look at the CRKT Folts minimalist line. Several blade profiles. Not great steel but in your price range you aren't going to get a great steel.

i have a few high end folders and fixed blades but i often pocket cary a EESE Izula... low cost, durable, & effective. Id highly recommend it.

theres no clip on the base sheath that comes with it, but you can throw a lanyard on the end or get a different sheath pretty cheap if you want

Boker/ Tom Krein collaboration called a "Pocket Bowie"--comes with Kydex if you can find one on the aftermarkets.--KV

Bear in mind that the clips on sheaths are often intended for thick material, and designed to hook over something with a ridge, like a belt. If the sheath of the knife you buy holds firmly onto the knife, the entire sheath might be pulled from your pocket along with the knife when you go to draw the knife.

I used to carry a fixed-blade in my front pocket with a belt clip holding the sheath onto my pocket, but I made my own sheaths specifically so that they were a little loose and would just carry the knife rather than hold onto the knife. This way I was able to draw the knife without pulling the sheath out with it.

I'm actually looking for something a bit more defensive. Also a touch larger.

If you're wanting larger than the Snarl, take a look at an original DPx HEST by Rowen. Not sure how it would pocket carry but a great fixed blade for EDC.

To stay small maybe a Buck CSAR-T Liason. I really like mine.

I've been carrying a Fallkniven juni for a while and love it. The kolt is a great knife too. Both come with phenomenal steels. Get whatever appeals to you. Dpx is solid knife too. Happy hunting
